Platinum Awards for Sports Stars

A press conference to launch the Sports1st Mobitel Platinum Awards Ceremony commenced at 4.30 p.m. on Friday.

This award ceremony was commenced to respect and reward the sports stars for their efforts in keeping the passion of sports alive in the hearts of millions of Sri Lankans. News 1st and Mobitel have partnered to launch the Platinum Awards, dubbed “The Oscars of sports awards ceremonies in Sri Lanka”.

Platinum Awards will recognize the sportsmen and women who have displayed dedication, exceptional talent and determination. A night of glitz, glamour and celebration of sporting performances followed the awarding ceremony.

The Sports 1st – Mobitel Platinum Awards 2014 is a powerful initiative that aims to highlight the four pillars on which sports stars built their foundation to reach the zenith of success – Dedication, Devotion, Discipline and Determination.

Meanwhile, the website www.platinumawards.lk was also launched during the press conference.
