India’s Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP) Urged Sri Lanka to take immediate action to the issues related to fishermen of Tamilanadu today.
Addressing a press conference following his visit to Sri Lanka BJP national General Secretary Muralidhar Rao said finding a solution to the particular issue would eventually create goodwill in India for the Sri Lanka government.

An Indian delegation comprising BJP National General Secretary and Global Convener of BJP Overseas Affairs Vijay Jolly represented the party at the 8th General Assembly of International Conference of Asian Political Parties held in Colombo from Sept 18-23.
Further at the conference, the BJP leaders met with the important stakeholders of Sri Lanka politics and governance including the President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa, former PM and Leader of Opposition Ranil Wickremasinghe, and leaders of Tamil parties and discussed various important issues of mutual interests.
The BJP leaders, while appreciating the Sri Lankan President for his government's recent move to release the arrested Indian fishermen, requested the release of trawlers seized in the operations.
He also stated that the problem related to the fishermen issue should be considered as a livelihood problem and the Sri Lanka government while dealing with this issue should be sensitive and flexible and be able to take creative steps.
