“We didn’t fight for so long just to replace Mahinda Rajapksa on the seat with Maithripala,” said the Thera, adding “We want to achieve all the objectives included in the manifesto, especially abolishing the Executive Presidency.”

Meanwhile, Sobitha Thera also stressed the importance of peace and unity among the citizens of this country despite their race and religion. The thera asked the people to stop fighting among themselves for a reason as trivial as differences in opinion.

“This is all chaos created by a government that functioned solely on racial disputes. All Tamils, Muslims and Sinhalese are citizens of this country” said Sobitha Thera.

He also added that if the Sinhalese people push away the Tamils accusing them of being part of the Tamil Eelam and push them away from society, the Sinhala people will be committing a gross injustice and an actual reason will be provided for an eelam.

According to Sobitha Thera, the promised actions of the 100 day plan will be carried out within a hundred days, and the National Movement for Social Justice will see to it that democracy and social justice is achieved in this country.
