"Make it Happen" : Symposium at SLFUW

The Sri Lanka Federation of University Women has organized a symposium on the 21st of March at 9 am to celebrate the international women’s day which fell on the 8th of March.
The international women’s day this year was celebrated under the theme of “Make it happen”.
The symposium will be held on the 21st of March at its Resource and training center, Auditorium, 96/25, Kitulawatte Road, Borella, Colombo 08.
This informative program, titled “Interactive Symposium on challenges faced by Women in Sri Lanka” will provide information about the programs and activities planned by the Women Ministers to uplift the conditions of Sri Lankan Women and Children.
Five Women Ministers of the present government will be guest speakers at the event. Ms. Rosy Senanayake, State Minister of children’s affairs will speak about the Combating incidents of child abuse and exploitation while Ms. Thalatha Atukorale, Minister of foreign employment will speak on“ Issues of Migrant Women workers”
The Deputy Minister of Women’s affairs Ms.Wijayakala Maheshwaran will speak on“Overcoming social and economic issues by women headed households” while the Minister of Women’s affairs Ms. Chandrani Bandara will address the topic of "political empowernment of women through representation at nationa, regional and local governmnet level".
